Opponents of Central Otago’s wind farms are saying “we told you so” to Transpower, after it was revealed that wind farms are less than efficient.
Transpower figures show that for the last three winters, three Manawatu wind farms have only produced one percent of what they are capable of.
Central Otago artist Graeme Sydney thinks wind farms are an eyesore, and says the turbines should never have been given the go ahead in the first place. He says there are many other alternative forms of power that should be considered.
