Meeting airs turbine woes

At the meeting of the Tipton County Citizens for Responsible Development in Windfall Tuesday evening, a lady identified she had cellphone, shadow flicker and TV reception problems due to living in the Wildcat Wind Farm. She said E.ON was not able to correct TV and cellphone problems for local residents, even after spending several thousand dollars trying.
She stated E.ON offered her blackout curtains for her windows. She stated the only way she could get E.ON to respond to her complaints was to contact the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Another attendee stated a helicopter could not land to rescue a motorcycle crash victim due to the wind turbines in the Wildcat Wind Farm. Instead, the victim had to be transported to the hospital, and the helicopter picked up the victim there to take him to an Indianapolis hospital. His condition resulting from the accident was unknown. An emergency room worker stated she would investigate.
Finally another Wildcat Township resident stated police were called by E.ON to remove a farmer, who was on his leased land, in the area of the wind turbine. No reason was given except, since E.ON holds the lease on the land, “the farmer no longer has a right to be there.”
There are more than 100 signed complaints that are being forwarded to state government and the local media to try to get the wind farm operators and the local elected officials to act.
