Buren Lage Weide: “Windmolens komen er niet”

De gemeenteraad van Utrecht zal niet akkoord gaan met een windmolenpark op Lage Weide. Daarvan is het bewonerscomité Buren van Lage Weide overtuigd.

Woensdagavond debatteerden gemeente, bewoners en ondernemers over het plaatsen van zes windmolens op het industrieterrein. Volgens het bewonerscomité zullen raadsleden gevoelig zijn voor de gezondheidsrisico’s en geluidsoverlast.

Voorzitter Jan Sakko: “Ik ga er vanuit dat de raad tot rede komt als alle argumenten zijn gehoord en als we verschillende debatten hebben gehad over het voorstel dat er ligt.” Sakko verwacht dat de raad uiteindelijk besluit te kiezen voor een ander duurzaam alternatief, waar iedereen voor is en dat vriendelijker is voor omwonenden.

Inwoners van Utrecht kunnen nog tot en met 13 september hun mening geven over het geplande windmolenpark in Lage Weide. In het najaar hakt de gemeenteraad definitief de knoop door.

Drijvende kracht achter de plannen voor de windmolens op Lage Weide is Energie-U. Volgens de Utrechtse organisatie leverende de zes geplande windturbines stroom voor 10.000 huishoudens. Omdat de molens op een industrieterrein komen, is er volgens Energie-U sprake van minimale geluidshinder.
