Another study into wind turbine syndrome

Credit:  By Annabelle Homer, www.abc.net.au 20 June 2011 ~~

Self-described victims of wind turbine syndrome have won the case for another study into their health issues.

The National Medical and Health Research Council has agreed to review the evidence of wind turbine noise.

The Senate Inquiry looking at the health impacts of wind farms should be tabled in June 2011.

With rural Australia likely to see a ten-fold increase in wind farms over the next 20 years, communities want some reassurance they won’t be affected.

This review has been welcomed by Bill Quinn, who’s the spokesperson for the “Save Mount Bryan Fighting Fund”.

He and a group of mid-north residents aren’t happy about the construction of a windfarm on their local ranges and have been in the ERD Court to stall the development of more turbines in their area.

He says wind turbines damage the environment during their construction, they give people headaches if they live nearby and they ruin the appeal of the the local ranges.
