The Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited the Iberdrola Streator Cayuga Ridge South Wind Farm for six violations after a worker was burned on site. OSHA officials say a wind farm technician suffered second and third degree burns to the upper part of his body from an electrical flash in October of last year. The company, Outland Renewable Services, faces penalties of $378,000.
They say the company was issued citations for exposing technicians to electrical hazards and failing to ensure the workers had their own energy isolation devices. The company has 15 days to reply.
