Coconino County Planning and Zoning holds hearing on wind farm CUP requests.

There will be a Planning and Zoning hearing concerning two conditional use permits by Torch Renewable Energy, LLC, Houston, Texas for two 200-foot meterological wind test towers. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 at the County Office Building on Cherry Street in Flagstaff. CUP-11-014 is for a tower on McNelly ranch land about 1.5 miles north of Willaha Road about three miles west of Highway 64 north of Valle, and is identified as T28N R2E NE ¼ Section 29 and as a portion of Assessor’s Parcel Number 502-09-001. CUP-11-015 considers a tower located on the south side of Willahah Road about nine miles west of Highway 64 north of Valle, and is identified as T28N R1W SE ¼ Section 33 and as a portion of Assessor’s Parcel Number 502-10-001.
