Butler told the board during his administrator’s report that the town received a district local technical assistance grant from the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission to help the town work on establishing a wind turbine bylaw.

The town was approached in October 2009 by a company called Patriot Renewables that expressed interest in building a six- to eight-turbine wind farm that stretched from Savoy into Adams. The company has not followed up since, but the Selectmen and Butler have expressed the desire to be prepared in the event the company, or a similar one, moves forward.
