Green? Not in my book

We are in the unenviable position of being able to see the huge construction site that is being developed to build the massive turbines to generate electricity at Fullabrook. At the time of the various inquiries, those of us that objected were vilified by the developers as being selfish ‘nimbies’, determined to doom our innocent grandchildren to the evils of global warming. They assured us that they were not in it for the money, ah no, they were purely interested in being ‘green’.
These developers have now taken their money and gone. Anyone interested in seeing how ‘green’ this industrial development is, should visit the site, (now closely guarded) and view the amount of plant and machinery currently engaged in building roads, parking areas, hard standing, etc. It is a massive undertaking before they even begin to build the turbines.
This ‘green’ site has massive lights, dominating the night sky, and turned on throughout the night.
In these days of austerity it seems outrageous that we are subsidising this industrial development, which has been proved to be inefficient at producing a consistent supply of electricity.
The amount of power produced will take many, many years to offset the amount used in the creation and maintenance of these turbines, if it ever does. The whole exercise is purely cosmetic, but disfiguring to locality.
