IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – A proposal to allow a wind farm east of Idaho Falls has been denied.
After four hours of debate and motions, the Bonneville Planning and Zoning Commission denied the use permit for Ridgeline Energy.
The Seattle-based company can appeal the decision to the County Commissioners within 10 days.
The permit would have allowed Ridgeline to build about 75 wind turbines in the Meadow Creek area along 115th East.
The P & Z commission voted 4 to 2 against the plan.
The commissions based their decision on was how the wind turbine could disrupt the scenic view of the foothills and lower property values.
