Sign vandals anger wind farm campaigners near Burnham-On-Sea

Vandals have angered members of a wind farm campaign group near Burnham-On-Sea this week after tearing down their promotion signs.
Four of the ‘No Huntspill Wind Farm’ boards were damaged and torn down from private properties along the A38 in West Huntspill on Tuesday.
“I feel this blatant act of vandilism to private properties was totally uncalled for, especially as the wind farm inquiry has now been closed and we are awaiting the Planning Inspector’s decision,” campaigner Julie Trott, pictured, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The value of four boards destroyed is approximately £120 – money that had been kindly donated by local people opposed to Ecotricity’s planning application.
Julie added: “If these people feel so strongly in favour of the Ecotricity wind farm application then I would like to question why they did not have the courage to attend the public inquiry and voice their opinion as did the many members of the local community who not only attended but stood up and spoke powerfully against the plans.”
She asked any members of the public who have information regarding who is responsible to contact the ‘No Huntspill Wind Farm’ action group via their website at www.huntspillwindfarms.org.uk to enable it to be passed to the police.
