The Adams County Commissioners on Monday voted to adopt the new wind ordinance, specifically as it deals with the construction and use of wind turbines in the county, with the amendments they suggested last week.
County Attorney Mark Burry performed the final reading of the wind ordinance at the commissioners’ weekly meeting, and the commissioners adopted it with the above amendments.
Now it will go back to the plan commission, who may either accept or reject the amendments, or do nothing. If accepted, the amendments will go into effect. If the plan commission rejects the amendments, the ordinance will go back to the commissioners for another vote.
If the plan commission does nothing in the next 45 days, the ordinance will go into effect as adopted by the commissioners.
