Denise Bode, the former head of wind and oil and gas industry trade groups, is now a principal with the prominent lobbying firm Cornerstone Government Affairs.

Bode recently stepped down as head of the American Wind Energy Association, and previously held top jobs with the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the American Clean Skies Foundation, a natural gas group.

“I am excited about the tax and energy practices at Cornerstone. The stage is set for action on energy, as well as tax policy,” Bode said in a statement.

“From my experience helping to lead the business extenders effort in the last Congress to representing various business interests in the last major tax reform bill, I am ready to contribute as part of the Cornerstone team,” she said.

Cornerstone is seeking to expand its energy and tax practices, the firm said.

Cornerstone is currently among Washington’s top 20 lobbying firms by revenue, pulling in $2.9 million in the first quarter of 2013.

Bode has also been a senior energy regulator with the state of Oklahoma, among other jobs.

Here’s even more of her bio, via Cornerstone:

“Bode also served as partner and tax counsel in the Washington, D.C. firm, Gold and Liebengood, Inc. where she was actively involved in the last major tax reform legislation in 1986 and as legal counsel to U.S. Senator David Boren (D-OK), focusing on energy, trade and taxation.”

Cornerstone’s long client list includes Boeing, ConAgra, Siemens, Pfizer, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, BNSF Railway, CropLife America, and many other companies and trade groups in food, agriculture and other areas, according to first quarter lobbying filings.

“We believe her skill set and knowledge base will allow us to significantly expand our energy and tax practices, expand our already significant service to our food and ag practices and provide an even higher level of service to all our clients,” said Cornerstone President Geoff Gonella in a statement.
