Bute’s community councillors have declined to give a view on proposals for a wind farm on the Rosneath peninsula.
Donnie MacLeod, who deals with planning issues for Bute Community Council, told the organisation’s March meeting this week that he had been contacted and asked for his, and BCC’s, opinions on proposals by the Rosneath Peninsula West Community Development Trust for a development of five turbines, each 92.5 metres tall from ground to blade tip.
But BCC’s policy is not to comment on proposed win farm developments if they cannot be seen from the island.
“I explained what our policy was,” Mr MacLeod said, “but I promised I would bring it up at our next meeting.”
BCC chair Grace Strong said: “I don’t think there’s anything we can do.”
