Protesters campaigning against a planned wind farm are celebrating this afternoon after the scheme was rejected by Aylesbury Vale District Council.
Their 15-month battle to halt the controversial development at Dorcas Lane, near Stoke Hammond, came to a head today when the council’s strategic development control committee voted 6-3 against the plans by Force 9 Energy after several hours of debate.
Council officers had spent months researching the effects that four gigantic wind turbines would have on the countryside and people living around the site, and had recommended that the application be rejected.
The scheme has caused a storm of protest in villages that overlook the fields earmarked for the development.
