Anger at ‘eyesore’ wind turbine plan

Parish councillors in Bramley have objected to proposals for a 79-metre tall wind turbine on green belt land.
They have also complained to Doncaster Council over a lack of consultation on the plan for Moor Lane between Ravenfield and Braithwell.
Clerk Rob Foulds said: “It would constitute an unacceptable and adverse visual intrusion in this rural setting.
“The proposal has no aesthetic merit whatsoever. It would in fact be an eyesore and many residents have also expressed this opinion.
“The parish council is concerned about the lack of consultation that Doncaster Borough Council has ascribed to the people of the bordering parishes.”
Applicants One Wind Renewables said the proposal for Fieldhouses Farm had been drawn up to have minimal impact on communities and the environment.
Planning documents added: “The turbine will have a maximum height to blade tip of 79m. It will be expected to save approximately 770 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.”
Doncaster Council’s deadline for feedback is today.
