FENNER, N.Y. – The new wind turbine in Madison County is finally nearing completion. The last section of the 300 foot turbine was installed at the Fenner Wind Farm Sunday.
The old turbine collapsed without warning in December 2009. Officials still don’t know why it fell.
The Fenner Town Supervisor says the new turbine going up is perfect for Madison County’s infrastructure.
Fenner Town Supervisor Russell Cary said, “This industry can come in and be a real support to the tax base. it can improve our energy efficiency. So it really fits.”
Also located in the Fenner Wind Farm is the “FREE Center.” It works towards producing and educating the public on renewable energy and energy conservation.
