Health board member seeks special counsel for turbine action

KINGSTON – Board of Health member Dan Sapir doesn’t want to wait until Nov. 28 to discuss the board’s recent vote requesting a meeting with town counsel to review legal options for Independence wind turbine remediation.

Sapir said he instead proposes the hiring of special counsel to represent the town’s interests and explore remediation options in response to citizen complaints.

A board meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Town House. Sapir said the board voted at last week’s meeting to act immediately to meet with town counsel, not to wait more than two weeks to Nov. 28.

“I don’t think that’s operating quickly enough,” he said.
