Our government fails us once again on wind development issues

Credit:  Oct 17, 2012 | www.htrnews.com ~~

Jay Mundinger of EEW Services LLC, formally Emerging Energies, makes one wonder does anybody in government listen. The wind turbine studies Mr. Mundinger refers to are from the Massachusetts Department of Health. Their findings are politically motivated and influenced by lobbing efforts of wind developers, not peer-reviewed studies done by engineers and doctors who have no financial interest.

In Wisconsin, the PSC allowed the wind turbine industry, including Bill Rakocy of EEW Services, to write their own regulations. If they were told to do a health and safety study, what would be the result? EEW Services held an open house at Fox Hills to promote the Beautiful Hill Wind project. Why was in not at the Shirley Wind Project they created?

Engineering facts and studies from Shirley Wind has been handed in, but not recorded into the Mishicot Town record as requested. The town continues to ignore issues and claims there is nothing they can do. They renewed their zoning to County Parks and Planning last year behind our backs. Opposition challenged the County Parks and Planning in court to protect everyone, with no help from the Town or County Board. In court Manitowoc County sided with the Navitas project, as their former president was being indicted on fraud charges and sent to prison. Emerging Energies was given permits under an old ordinance and was reversed in court.

In Brown County, opposition had a house and car damaged by gunshot in separate cases. The DA and Sheriff’s Department have swept this under the rug. This has silenced some from speaking out. Could it be that the political agenda of government supporting wind turbine development is the real problem?

Now the Town of Mishicot wants to take away our ability to elect the clerk and treasurer positions on Nov. 6. Please vote no to dictatorship.
