JANESVILLE – A truck hauling a section of wind turbine was involved in an unusual accident that caused an injury Wednesday near Janesville.
The semitrailer truck was crossing railroad tracks on West Hanover Road near Highway 11 southwest of the city just before 2 p.m. when the lowboy trailer caught on a concrete slab near the tracks, the Janesville Fire Department reported.
The 8-foot-by-3-foot slab was pulled up, and the pickup truck that served as the semi’s chase car hit the slab and rolled over several times.
The driver of the pickup, a woman, was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville, with non-life-threatening injuries.
Workers from Rock County and the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad were called to repair the roadway.
