Dutch ban construction of future wind turbines

Credit:  NewsFix KIAH | www.39online.com 12 September 2012 ~~

Winds of change are blowing through The Netherlands.

The government of North Holland plans to ‘red light’ future construction of all wind turbines. It’s a shocking decision since they’ve been using wind power for centuries and, well that’s one of the things Holland’s known for.

During a worldwide battle for renewable energy why would any country limit or refuse to ‘Go Green’? Looks! Some Dutch say the New Age wind turbines are ugly, noisy, monstrosities. Yeah, these aren’t your parents’ windmills.

Holland already has two thousand windmills that generate more than 1.21 gigawatts.

It may be enough to go Back to the Future but it`s not enough to power the country; in fact it’s less than 4% of the Netherlands needs.

If this is a trend of things to come in Holland any hopes of being a worldwide leader in wind energy may soon be ‘gone with the wind.’
