Pastoral scenes to wind chargers

Credit:  Times Record News | www.timesrecordnews.com 9 June 2012 ~~

If you happen to be a painter of landscapes, better get out now and find those treasured scenes, they are quickly vanishing under the weight of the wind farms.

I seems as if it happened overnight.

The countryside is now dotted with wind generators churning out electricity. It’s taking a bit of getting used to for my part because I spent years painting landscapes. I find no beauty in those monstrosities rising from the ground like giant egg beaters.

I suppose that’s progress especially for the tree-huggers and for those who believe that the stimulus package has produced green jobs.

I wonder just what they will be used for when they become obsolete, rusty and falling down? Those that are out in the middle of a cotton field, I suppose they could be used to store cotton.

Those that are sitting on a beautiful mountain somewhere, we will just have to look past the eyesore, and remember the good old days.
