A large number of concerned Plympton-Wyoming residents have formed a citizen’s action group to prevent the planned implementation of up to 62 industrial sized wind turbines throughout their community.
The group met March 31 to elect a board of directors and is operating under the name WAIT (We’re Against Industrial Turbines) Plympton-Wyoming.
WAIT has begun fundraising efforts, established a Web site www.WAIT-PW.ca and is collecting signatures of like-minded residents and accepting volunteers to canvass area neighbours inviting their support.
The group aims to preserve and promote the existing rural landscape and small town values.
For more information, contact WAIT communications director Ron Schenk at 519-490-5463 or e-mail: schenk_specific@yahoo.ca.
