Campaigners against plans to build two wind turbines in a village have urged residents to make their views known.
The Ketton and Tinwell Action Group on Wind Turbines was formed after REG Windpower revealed its plans to build two 100m masts on land off Steadfold Lane, Ketton.
The group started a petition against the turbines, which they say are in the wrong place and are too close to houses and the Hanson Cement plant.
REG Windpower has submitted a planning application to Rutland County Council and the group has urged residents who back their campaign against the turbines make their objections clear before March 30 so they will be considered alongside the application.
Group chairman Dick Bell said: “Villagers are up in arms against the plans. Everyone is against the location.”
The group wants people to send letters of objection to planning officer Nick Thrower, with copies to Couns Barrie Roper and Chris Emmett, at Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham, LE15 6HP, and to Rutland MP Alan Duncan at The House of Commons, London, SW1 0AA.
An extraordinary meeting of Ketton Parish Council will be held to discuss the plans on Tuesday at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Congregational Hall, Chapel Lane, Ketton.
