PUGWASH, NS, Feb. 28, 2012 /CNW/ – Residents of Pugwash now have access to an innovative website that makes contacting the Premier, relevant Ministers and local representatives regarding the proposed wind farm in Pugwash easy.

Comments for the Pugwash Wind Farm environmental assessment are due before March 7, 2012.

The website http://protectpugwash.org shares the proud history of Pugwash, articulates the concerns of local residents and allows citizens to take action of their own by writing their own comments to the government.

“We feel it is very important that members of our Association and those of the community are being heard. We can’t say for certain the government is actually listening, but the more of us involved and the louder we get, the harder we will be to ignore,” said Lisa Betts, Chair of the Gulf Shore Preservation Association (GSPA). “There are very serious concerns with this project and we believe it is the obligation of concerned residents to take action. We are happy to make it easier” added Betts.
