If all the windfarms which either have been given planning consent or are in the planning process in the Westcountry went ahead, the region would see scores of turbines spring up.
Four windfarm projects have planning consent and around ten more are at varying stages of the planning process.
If they all reached fruition, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset would see about 80 turbines being built.
The four schemes that have planning consent are at St Breock, near Wadebridge, which is for eight turbines; at Higher Darracott near Torrington, three turbines; Roskrow Barton, near Falmouth, two turbines; and Swingdon, near Holsworthy, one turbine.
Schemes that are in the planning process include the Fullabrook Down proposal for 22 turbines, which is currently being considered by a public inquiry in Barnstaple.
Other proposals include nine turbines at West Hinkley on the Somerset coast, nine turbines at Batsworthy Cross between South Molton and Tiverton and five at Otterham in North Cornwall.
