Nazi experiment comments taken out of context

Credit:  By SHARON HOWARTH, www.southcoasttoday.com 31 January 2012 ~~

The recent articles in The Standard-Times regarding Curt Devlin’s Nazi comments at the Fairhaven Wind Turbine forum were totally taken out of context to the point he was trying to make. He was using the Nazis as an example for bad behavior toward innocent people.

We have a set of rules in place used by the USA to regulate human experimentation. Do you consider it humane to treat some citizens of Fairhaven different than others? Why is one neighborhood being forced, against their will, to participate in something – an experiment per se, where there is no escape? Sounds similar to the Nazis doesn’t it? Mr. Devlin doesn’t have a dog in this fight – he doesn’t live in the neighborhood, but he was willing to step up and say this isn’t right.

From what I remember from three years ago the town had planned for a total of five turbines. Maybe they will be going up in your neighborhood instead of mine next time, and who will stand for you then? I have to wonder why out of all the speakers they feel the need to jump on the only one who was against wind turbines.

Mr. Devlin pointed to at least four people in the audience from Falmouth who had experienced ill effects. We were also given a letter written by a woman who did not live in the area, but worked near it and experienced vertigo and nausea.

If you had four to five children in one neighborhood who developed cancer it would be investigated. No studies or any research presented by the other speakers addressed the real life illnesses of these experimental subjects.

This attack on Devlin is just a feeble attempt at misdirection to try and take focus away from the real issues. The point Devlin was trying to convey was that those of us who are in the area of wind turbines are in fact experimental subjects. We cannot opt out of the experiment; we are being used as guinea pigs for the wind industry without even being asked to participate, and if we get sick too bad for us.

Devlin feels that those in the wind industry are refusing to look at the health risks, and essentially ignoring the health of those who have already participated in the experiment. As he mentioned in his presentation – there is no scientific correlation between cigarette smoking and cancer but we all know it’s there. Same with wind turbines – no scientific proof of health issues but it’s there.

What you should be asking is this – The wind turbine industry and the scientists/health professionals it employs do not want to you to look too closely at the people who have gotten sick, in fact they are totally ignoring them.

When someone spends too much time telling me something is good for me, without presenting opposing viewpoints or trashing Devlin’s presentation, it makes me suspect there is more here than meets the eye.
