A blast against the wind turbines

Credit:  By Ann Widdecombe, Daily Express, www.express.co.uk 7 December 2011 ~~

Congratulations to Julian and Sarah Jane Davis who have won a large amount of compensation after suffering the misery of a giant eight-turbine wind farm being erected a mere half mile from their pleasant country home.

The wretched device that will, like all its counterparts wreck the countryside but deliver precious little energy, made sleep impossible, warranted a council tax reduction and left them unable to sell their home.

These monstrosities, so beloved by David Cameron and the depleting band who yet believe that contrary to the evidence global warming is still going on and is largely man-made, will concrete over vast tracts of green and pleasant land unless resisted with a will.

The Davis case is helpful but it would have been better if a judge had ruled the wind farm unlawful. Any day now there will be a determined effort by the environmental fanatics to infest National Parks with these hideous installations with citizens having precious few means of redress.

Any pause for thought will be welcome and one can only hope that the Davises may have made life just the tiniest bit more difficult for those who ruthlessly and cynically exploit a gullible government’s good intentions.
