PSC to Hold Public Hearings on Proposed Wind Project in Fond du Lac County

The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) will hold public hearings in Malone, Wisconsin on Thursday, November 30 regarding We Energies’ application to construct a wind electric generation facility in Fond du Lac County.

Citizens are invited to provide testimony on We Energies’ request to construct approximately 88 wind turbines, which could generate up to 200 megawatts of energy, in the towns of Calumet and Marshfield. We Energies must receive PSC approval before it can construct the wind farm and the facility may also require other state and local permits.

Public comments on We Energies’ application will be included in the record the Commission will review to make a decision. The Commission has the authority to approve, modify or deny the application. Citizens are encouraged to attend one of the hearings, which are scheduled for:

Thursday, November 30, 2006
3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Calumet Town Hall
W2140 County Highway HH
Malone, WI

If you cannot attend the public meetings, but would like to provide comments, you can do so on the PSC’s website at http://psc.wi.gov/ through November 30. Click on the Public Comments button and click on the case title. The hearing locations are accessible to people in wheelchairs. Any person who needs additional accommodations to participate should contact Docket Coordinator, Jim Lepinski, at 608-266-0478.

Documents associated with We Energies’ applications can be viewed on the PSC’s Electronic Regulatory Filing System at http://psc.wi.gov/. Type case numbers 6630-CE-294 in the boxes provided on the PSC homepage, or click on the Electronic Regulatory Filing System button.
