LIMESTONE – EverPower Wind Holdings Inc. officials reportedly have stated that they do not have to pay the town of Carrollton to use their road for transport of wind turbine equipment – and if the town fights the issue, the company will take them to court.

That was the word from Dave Frederick, town of Carrollton supervisor, during Wednesday’s regular meeting at the municipal building.

Mr. Frederick delivered these comments when opening a discussion about EverPower’s plans to use Church Street and Nichols Run to transport up to 8,500 truckloads of materials and equipment to the Chipmonk and Knapp Creek areas in the town of Allegany. The company plans to build a 29-wind turbine farm in Allegany but continues to meet opposition from area residents and members of Concerned Citizens of Cattaraugus County, who were in attendance at the meeting.
