Yachtsmen brought their concerns about a huge offshore wind farm to its developers.
Eneco, which wants to create the £2 billion-plus Navitus Bay wind park to the west of the Island, met with 30 representatives from yacht clubs on the Island and along the south coast at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.
A presentation was followed by a question and answer session, with representatives asking about the potential impact of the park on their recreational activities.
In the past, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) has criticised the location 8.4 miles to the west of the Island for hundreds of turbines as being in a key sailing area.
Eneco says it will work with the RYA to minimise impact on recreational sailing. It has already held several information days
The meeting on Friday, September 30, was part of its formal consultation with key groups which will continue in February 2012.
