Plans for 60m Ardley wind turbine on the table

Villagers from Ardley and Fewcott have strongly objected to plans for a 90-metre wind turbine near Junction 10 of the M40.
The planning application, submitted by Cherwell Valley Service Area operators Moto Hospitality, seeks permission for a single 86.5-metre turbine with a rotor diameter of 53 metres.
Ardley with Fewcott Parish Council said the turbine could justify more development along the M40 corridor, and said villages are at risk of being, “…totally encircled by huge buildings.”
The Campaign to Protect Rural England also objected, saying turbine blades would be visible 15km away.
Members of Cherwell District Council’s planning committee were due to make a decision at a meeting last night, Thursday. Four 125-metre turbines were given planning permission near Ardley last July.
