Industrial wind turbines do not belong near residences. Let’s paint the picture of those homes near an industrial wind site.
Imagine a strobe light effect in your home and yard as the sun is shining behind the huge spinning blades causing constant landscape-sweeping shadow flicker.
This can cause migraines and motion sickness in some people.
Imagine the constant low-frequency sound being produced as you try to sleep, causing sleep disturbances, night after night.
Imagine the interruption of your television, Internet, radio and cellphone reception from the towers between these homes and the points of transmission.
Imagine the high-power lines that now intertwine in that area to carry the electricity produced. It has to be connected to the main grid and new towers and higher-voltage lines must be built to accommodate that transmission.
Imagine the value of these properties decreasing.
Ask yourself if you would purchase a home surrounded by these industrial wind sites.
I asked 100 people. Ninety-nine immediately answered no.
The one who said yes, quickly changed his mind when I mentioned the high-power lines.
Wake up, Harrow and Essex County. These huge giants are on the horizon. They will be in your backyard if you don’t speak up now.
Many people are angry about these turbines that are in the plans for as early as fall this year. Few have voiced their concerns.
Phone your town council and voice your opinion.
Do not sit back and then complain after they are built. Act now.
The councillors are not hearing from you, so they don’t have a clue how many people are against this proposed plan to place them so close to your homes.
NIMBY: Not in my backyard.
