A large portion of Tuesday Palo Alto County Board of Supervisors meeting revolved around the proposed building of as many as 50 new wind turbines in the Lost Island Lake area.

Several residents from the affected area continued to ask that their voices be heard including Jim Neighbors who says a process like this, which takes some time get started will affect the area for years to come.

There was also some question about whether or not the land proposed for the wind turbines is zoned properly which County Attorney Peter Hart says it is.

The Board of Supervisors did set a series of public hearing for an amended wind turbine ordinance, the only real action that can be taken at this point, for community members to continue giving input. Those meetings with be June 8th, 15th and 22nd all at 6:30 at the Emmetsburg VFW.
